📦 1. Returns & Cancellation Policy

Made-to-measure composite doors cannot be returned or cancelled once manufacturing has started.
All products supplied by The Front Door Store are built specifically to your chosen:

  • Size

  • Colour

  • Style

  • Frame type

  • Glass option

  • Hardware configuration

This makes every door custom-made and exempt from standard 14-day returns, as allowed under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 (Section 28 – personalised goods).

❌ Non-returnable items

We cannot accept returns on:

  • Custom-made doors

  • Bespoke glass

  • Bespoke frames

  • Special-order hardware

  • Installed products

  • Products damaged through misuse or incorrect installation (for supply-only)

✔ If a product is incorrect or damaged on delivery

If your door arrives damaged, incorrect, or missing components, you must notify us within 48 hours of delivery.
We will:

  • Inspect the issue

  • Arrange replacement parts, remanufacture, or repair at no cost

This is covered by your supplier-backed warranty.

✔ Supply Only Deliveries

Before fitting, you must check:

  • Sizes

  • Colours

  • Opening direction

  • Glass design

  • Frame configuration

Once the product is fitted, it is deemed accepted and cannot be returned.


🔧 2. Installation Warranty (If Installed by The Front Door Store)

If we install your door, you receive:

⏳ 12-Month Installation Warranty

Covers:

  • Labour

  • Adjustment of door slab

  • Realignment

  • Locking mechanism adjustment

  • Sealant failure

  • Minor cosmetic installation defects

This warranty is provided directly by The Front Door Store.


🛡 3. Manufacturer Product Warranty

Your door is covered by the full manufacturer warranty from the supplier — Solidor or Door-Stop International, depending on the product you select.

This includes:

3.1 Solidor Composite Doors Warranty (Typical coverage)

  • 10-Year Structural Warranty on the door slab

  • 10-Year Warranty on the outer frame

  • 5-Year Warranty on glazing units

  • 1-Year Warranty on hardware (hinges, handles, locks)

  • UV stability and colour integrity guarantee

  • Warpage protection (when installed correctly)

3.2 Door-Stop International Warranty (Typical coverage)

  • 10-Year Warranty against manufacturing defects

  • Thermal performance guarantee

  • Security hardware warranty (depending on component)

  • Glazing unit warranty (commonly 5 years)

If the supplier updates their warranty, the policy applies from the date of your order.


🔍 4. What the Manufacturer Warranty Covers

  • Manufacturing defects

  • Faulty hardware

  • Faulty glazing

  • Structural failure

  • Warping beyond acceptable tolerances

  • Colour stability issues

  • Delamination or splitting

❌ Not Covered

  • Damage caused by incorrect installation (supply only)

  • Lack of correct maintenance

  • Harsh chemicals

  • Storm or impact damage

  • Misuse or forced entry

  • General wear of consumable parts

  • DIY adjustments causing damage


🧪 5. Door Maintenance Requirements

To keep your warranty valid:

  • Clean hardware with mild soapy water

  • Lubricate the locking mechanism every 6 months

  • Ensure correct drainage clearances remain unblocked

  • Avoid high-pressure washing directly on the door

  • Check that the door is not obstructed by flooring, rugs, or swelling frames


📬 6. How to Raise a Warranty Claim

If you experience an issue, please email:

We will:

  • Acknowledge your claim within 48 hours

  • Review with Solidor or Door-Stop where appropriate

🔒 7. Limitation of Liability

The Front Door Store only covers:

  • Products supplied directly by us

  • Installation completed by our installers

  • Manufacturer defects covered by Solidor or Door-Stop

We cannot be held responsible for:

  • Third-party installation issues

  • Damage occurring after handover

  • Modifications or adjustments by unqualified persons
